WINNER ANNOUNCED AT THE 2008 NATIONAL SHOW
Highland Youth is an initiative of the AHCS Council to promote,
foster and encourage younger members of the ‘Highland Community’
into a greater devotion and appreciation of the breed.
Council recognises that the future of the breed lies within the
innovation of its youth, and we must harness and utilize this
resource to secure the breed’s rightful place in the future.
From this web page Highland Youth (Junior Members) can band together,
swap stories, articles, jokes and experiences as they learn,
grow and nurture the future of the Highland breed here in
Australia.
Currently we are seeking articles from each Junior Members about
their future for and with the Highland Breed. The article judged
best by Council will be posted onto the web site, with the
author awarded a perpetual plaque and the title of AHCS Highland
Youth for 12 months.
Each Highland Youth award winners will be asked to liaise
with Council and Representatives in their local area and become
involved with and encourage the involvement of other members
both young and old in organising Field Days, Local Shows, and
Heifer camps.
So if you or anyone you know is eligible to be a Junior Member
of the Society and wants to become more involved, this is your
page, and you are invited by Council to use it.
